Street Photographer. Born and raised in Brazil, also an American and Italian citizen, lives since 2001 in West Palm Beach, Florida USA. Adriano Ficarelli has a multi-culture formation heavily influenced by his family with several well known artists, painters, musicians, composers and architects. Although he had chosen to work with computer software and hardware, for all his professional life he always felt the need to express himself with art. I classify myself as a street photographer. Street photography course branches in various personal and different techniques. I shoot always handheld mostly at night, very influenced by the environment, natural or mixed kind and colors of lights, by the weather, and especially by the dynamics, the movements. People on my way sometimes participate of the composition and sometimes force me to find a very special angle. Nothing is static, only a few seconds to decide and shot. The subject is a dynamic scene, alive. Shoot or loose it. Often I have chance for just one shot.
I think I have the instinct to see beauty in everything, a kind of optimistic thinking based on my philosophy. I found photography is the way to express myself, sometimes surprising my "models", mostly anonymous models. It is gratifying that it drove me to make new friends after having them photographed.
This mixture of excitement to express myself and photograph in a hostile environment, trying to use the best technique, makes this style a form of live performance to photography, as it is in any other media, where the technique is sometimes sacrificed for the best way to express a vision, sometimes a hallucination.
Very exciting to shoot musicians. Music is one of my passions, the mood helps synch with the performer, but I try to go a little further, I try to connect with the musician or the scene.
Do you know how beautiful you are ?
I telepathically try to send this message so people feel more comfortable in front of my lenses.
